Ravenswood's founder goes from strength to strength.
From strictly supervised taster at the age of ten, Joel had a working knowledge of European wines by the time he was a teenager and since then he's gone from strength to strength. Admired and acknowledged as the leader in Zinfandel today, Joel co-founded the Ravenswood winery in 1976. With the motto "No Wimpy Wines" he has made Zinfandel the phenomenon it is today. And he's as famous for his strong opinions as for his complex, full-bodied vintages.
