This is a red that's deep and almost meaningful. Damsons and berries on the nose, medium to full length, slightly spicy finish with even tannins. The late arrival of new season lamb approaches and this silky textured vino is just waiting for it.

On the nose, it displayed scents of citrus and green melons, the first sip dryly delicious. Counterpointing this lively acidity were subtle, very restrained sweeter notes of fruit, ripe lemons and apricots near the stone. The finish kept its crispness, and was good and long. Just the right companion bottle for cracking away at crab claws.
